Maintenance Technician I - MF

Job Summary


The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for cleanup, repair and replacement of various household items for occupied Tricon properties to ensure a safe and attractive living environment for residents.


  •  Respond to service requests in a professional and timely manner
  • Communicate with Maintenance team and Community Manager to prioritize tasks throughout the day
  • Communicate clearly, compassionately, and with empathy when speaking with internal team members, vendors and residents
  • Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with residents and vendors
  • Attend to faucet, sink, drain, toilet, water heater, disposal, and sump pump minor plumbing repairs
  • Caulk and grout, as needed
  • Test for current, replace receptacles and GFCI’s
  • Replace light fixtures, ceiling fans switches, outlets and perform other minor electrical work
  • Repair strikers, latches, hinges, door knobs, locksets and lockboxes
  • Repair/replace/rescreen window screens
  • Repair pre-hung doors and windows, panes and blinds
  • Replace baseboards, door casings and moldings
  • Repair cabinet doors, hinges and fixtures
  • Clear condensate lines and pans
  • Function as a groundskeeper in maintaining overall property appearance and curb appeal
  • Perform janitorial functions and take care of cleaning requests as needed in common areas
  • Patch holes touch up and paint properties
  • Accurately utilize technology (inventory tracking system, company vehicles, etc.) to drive productivity and continuous improvement for maintenance service delivery to our residents
  • Complete all service requests in an accurate and timely manner


  • Skilled in installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of household appliances, plumbing, electrical and miscellaneous household items
  • Ability to work on-call and overtime hours, as needed
  • Ability to correspond (in writing and verbally) effectively with team members, residents, and vendors
  • Work safely, wearing PPE’s
  • Possess the ability to work within team structured environment in efforts to meet both individual and specified team goals
  • Ability to effectively reflect company core values throughout interaction with internal and external customers 


  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years maintenance/construction background
  • Commitment to serving residents in accordance to Tricon Residentials Standards of Service
  • Daily travel between properties
  • Must be able to work in environmentally and physically challenging working conditions
  • Must be able to lift objects weighing 50lbs or more regularly
