Job Description

The work of a Hearing Advisor in Title IX sexual harassment (and other sexual misconduct) cases entails participating in hearings to conduct questioning on behalf of a party in the matter. The hearings will be conducted virtually. An advisor will attend the prehearing meeting with the party and then meet with the party prior to the hearing in order to prepare to conduct questioning on behalf of the party. An advisor must maintain the privacy of any information and records shared for the purposes of this role and will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement ( NDA ) regarding information received in the completion of their duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in sociology, criminal justice or related area required; juris doctor preferred. At least three years of experience in administrative hearing processes, preferably in higher education or employment.

Proficiency with virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams. Advisors must have their own computers, software and secure, reliable internet connection. Advisors must have access to email and telephone communications.

Work Schedule

This position will work on an as-needed basis. Selected candidates must be able to attend meetings and hearings that are scheduled during regular working hours. Hearings are typically one to two full days.
