General Information JMU Libraries' Media Production Services (MPS) is hiring for the 2021-2022 academic year. MPS is seeking a part-time student employee to aid in the production of instructional media for the JMU community, mainly video. This position will work in all development phases of production, including set-up, recording, editing, etc. The assistant must be experienced, creative, hardworking, dependable, and have the ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines.Positions are for either Federal Work Study or Institutional Employment for the 2019-2020 academic year, with potential to continue into the next academic year. The assistant will work with multiple software and equipment to produce high quality instruction media.

Duties and Responsibilities * Assist MPS staff in the pre-production, production and post-production of videos and other instructional media projects, both in-studio and on-location, using proper recording and editing techniques.
* Utilize software and hardware that will aid in creating media related projects.
* May create graphics, animations and photographs for videos and other related media projects.
* Keep constant communication with supervisors on projects, keep an accurate detail of all work, and keep work areas clean at all times. Qualifications * Must have experience with one or more of the following applications or be willing to learn on the job: Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Camtasia, and Audacity (or similar programs).
* Prior experience with a basic understanding of videography or photography principles.
* Prior experience preferred with working with different digital video cameras, camcorders, and DSLRs.
* Must be able to schedule shifts between Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. Work will be performed in Rose Library. Conditions of Employment

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
