RN OR Circulator/PACU Surgery Center

Position Description: Full-Time   NO Call Shifts The OR RN, under the direction of the Department Director, Manager and/or Clinical Nurse Supervisor, provides high quality, cost-effective nursing care, meeting the medical, psycho/social, spiritual, emotional and educational needs of day surgery patients. Serves in a cross functional role, performing Circulator/PACU duties. Performs related assessments, planning, procedures/treatments, evaluations and updates of patient plan of care that assures and maintains high quality care for all assigned patients. Provides nursing care consistent with established nursing policies, protocols, and professional standards, and acts as a patient/family advocate to assure appropriate provision of patient care and to protect patients' rights.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  Licensure:
  • Current Idaho RN license. Compact license accepted, must obtain Idaho RN license within 90 days of hire.
  Certification/Registration:
  • Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification or obtain within 7 days of employment. 
  • Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (ACLS) and Certification or obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course and Certification or obtain within 90 dyays of employment.
Experience:
  • 1-2 years general nursing experience in acute care setting preferred. 
  • Minimum six months experience in perioperative setting required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Ability to manage multiple priorities, effective problem resolution skills, ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels in the organization including patients, families, physicians, supervisors, directors and other department representatives. Scrub skills recommended. Circulate to all specialties except cardiac and neuro.
