Haven Behavioral Healthcare is adding a new position within our Corporate Office for a Staff Accountant.

Haven Behavioral Healthcare operates seven acute-care psychiatric hospitals across the United States that offer a full continuum of care for anyone dealing with mental health and substance abuse issues, from young adults to seniors.

Entry Level Position.

Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for the completion of month-end close, preparation & consolidation of fixed assets, preparation of annual financial audit paperwork for corporate and all development companies. This position assists in the payroll processes, such as review and uploads, along with assisting Accounts Payable in completing tasks.

  • Perform the monthly close for hospitals which includes creating and posting all standard journal entries for expenses items, expense review for appropriate coding, and creating non-standard entries for manual accruals as appropriate.
  • Prepares/maintains Balance Sheet account analysis.
  • Performs ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
  • Prepares interim and year end audit schedules and responds to audit inquiries.
  • Prepares cost reporting information for external vendor as directed.
  • Assist with variance analysis and preparation of monthly operation review packages.
  • Prepare/maintain Balance Sheet accounting analysis.
  • Prepares interim and year end audit schedules and responds to audit inquiries for the hospitals they close.
  • Prepares cost reporting information for external vendor as directed.
  • Prepare property, gross receipts tax, sale/use tax, and/or other tax filings and check requests in accordance with regulatory body’s stated timelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred, Finance or Business degrees considered with requisite experience.
