Valley Regional is committed to providing the best health care for the residents in the Rio Grande Valley.   Valley Regional Medical Center is a 214 Licensed Bed Facility with over 200 physicians representing over 25 specialties; Valley Regional Medical Center is a leader in a vast array of high quality inpatient and outpatient programs and services.     What you will do in this role:   • Actively participates in the collaborative program which requires review of patient activities related to medical necessity of hospitalization, appropriateness of length of stay, timely and appropriate utilization of services rendered, and identification of patient needs related to patient care following discharge from the hospital.   • The case manager promotes quality care and cost-effective outcomes to enhance the physical, psychosocial and vocational health of individuals.  • The position encompasses reviewing, planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating health-related service options throughout the continuum.  • Employee will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the neonate, infant child, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.  

Qualifications

What qualification you will need:
Registered Nurse with current Texas License, Bachelor’s Degree preferred• Two years of clinical nursing experience required, Case Management or Utilization Review experience preferred• American Heart Association (Health Care Provider)BLS required• Case Management or Utilization Review certification, preferred• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in oral, written and electronic form• Demonstrated ability to critical thinking, analytical and decision-making skills, and negotiation• Demonstrated ability to perform basic word processing and spreadsheet functions• Ability to collect, interpret and report data, as required• Ability to take call evening, nights and weekends HCA Healthcare ranks on Fortune’s list of Most Admired Companies for three consecutive years and HCA ranks 63rd on the fortune 500 list.
