Cox Communications is searching for a Wireless RF Engineer who will support all RF aspects of Cox WiFi, Cellular and OSP Projects. Primary responsibilities include certification of Wireless RF Tools and Assisting Sales and Field Engineers with RF Designs of Cox WiFi & Wireless Projects. You will support all upfront activities required of Cellular and WiFi deployments including RF Site surveys, RF Analysis and Site walks to generate WiFi and Wireless designs. You will provide RF Design Guidelines and Best Practices for Site deployments, RF Quality Assurance & RF troubleshooting methodology. You will work on evaluations & recommendations of vendor RF tools and certify wireless devices including WiFi Access Points for RF performance.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Performs product and network testing per test plan, analyzes, documents, and presents the results.
- Performs WiFi Site Designs for Cox Business and Residential WiFi Projects.
- Documents Best Practices and Guidelines in RF Playbook for RF Designs, RF Site Surveys, RF QA and RF Troubleshooting for WiFi deployments
- Provides Tier 3 Engineering Support to troubleshoot over the Air (802.11) RF Issues of existing WiFi deployments.
- Evaluates & Recommends Wireless RF Tools
- Performs Physical Site Surveys with AP on Stick & Post deployment RF QAs for WiFi deployments
- Filed Tests & Certifies Outdoor and Indoor WiFi Access Points for RF Performance
- Writes M&Ps to Test & Troubleshoot RF issues for Field Technicians & Engineers; Writes M&Ps for Field Technicians to perform Virtual & Physical RF Site Surveys
- Qualifies list of vendors to perform RF Design, RF QA, and installation work for WiFi deployments for Indoor and Outdoor WiFi deployments.
- Performs RF Designs for Wireless Point-to-Point and Point-to-MultiPoint deployments
- Specifies WiFi RF parameters and values for RF Design, Configuration & QA Best Practices.
- Supports Cox Business Small Cell Deployments by conducting Lab and field testing of Small Cells.
- Writes Technical Specifications to perform PIM & Sweep Tests to verify quality of Installation of Cellular Sites.
- Performs testing as needed related to product issues reported by the field, to confirm the issue and document it for vendor resolution.
- Assists in the generation of Cox product specification documents, in collaboration with Cox OSP Engineering.


- 5+ years of experience required in Wireless RF Engineering, with solid knowledge of Wireless RF, LTE and 802.11, design, and operation principles.
- 5+ years experience in use of RF Design Tools i.e. iBwave, Ekahau and AirMAgnet.
- 5+ years experience Troubleshooting of over the Air interface, and 802.11 interface.
- Proficient in the use of RF tools for designing Point-to-Point and P2MP wireless links.

- BS/BA in related discipline (i.e. Electrical Engineering.).
- Experience in telecommunications industry
