Primary Function of Position:

Responsible for supporting software teams at the heart of Intuitive’s new robotic platform. The successful candidate is an individual with high energy, ownership, integrity, and accountability that will manage software release content & software builds, drive the process for issue investigation and resolution, and own software documentation. Moreover, the successful candidate must have demonstrated ability to work well with various cross-functional teams.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage software release content and issue tracking; generate and release software builds
  • Own documentation for software teams (software documentation plans and reports, software change requests and reconciliation reports, requirements, risk documents, Known Anomaly Lists, build instructions)
  • Manage software quality metrics, analyze field issue reports, and perform data mining on error logs to inform sustaining and test engineering efforts
  • Review error codes and error descriptions to ensure the accuracy and understandability of the contents; Coordinate with cross functional teams to implement changes in software builds
  • Recognize and attract top talent, mentor and train existing team members and new hires through one on one coaching as well as team wide initiatives

Skill/Job Requirements:

  • Minimum BS or above in CS, EE or related fields
  • Minimum of five years of experience working with embedded systems or electromechanical systems, preferably in medical devices and safety critical robotic systems
  • Experience in C and C++, Python
  • Experience creating and presenting compelling technical specifications from top-level system architecture documents down to low-level implementation guides
  • Experience recruiting, mentoring, and managing teams of highly skilled engineers a plus.
