PSE's Local Government & Community Engagement team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Sr Community Engagement Rep/Pierce County & Military Communities position!

Job Description

Manages a wide range of community issues including energy, land use, environment, equity, diversity and inclusion. The successful candidate needs to be a practicing professional who successful builds relationships and coalitions to help move meaningful community initiatives forward. While this position works independently on the most part, the successful candidate will have a strong ability to work as part of a larger integrated high preforming team.

Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

Job Responsibilities

Serves as PSE’s community representative for Pierce County and Military Communities.
Works as a team member of a larger public affairs team providing assistance as needed for the success of the entire organization.
Develops and works with community opinion leaders and community-based organizations including non-profit, education, environment, equity and social justice communities.
Identifies and facilitates PSE’s community investments and sponsorships.
Collaboratively works with PSE’s products and services, regulatory, energy efficiency, local government and major project teams.
Develops and provides data collection, interpretation and management in the community engagement and investment space.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

7 years community relations, customer service and/or operations experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
5 years’ experience developing relationships within and outside an organization. Ability to create effective partnerships at all levels of the organization.
Experience in building/developing programs in relation to customers or products.
Excellent customer relations skills including problem solving and conflict resolution.
Excellent communications skills (oral, written, listening)
Superior analytical, coaching, teambuilding and diplomacy skills.
Ability to work well in a matrix environment.
Uncompromising ethics and integrity.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, communications or public affairs.
Strong teambuilding and interpersonal skills.
Ability and flexibility to travel within service region.
Previous experience working with community-based organizations, non-profit agencies and neighborhood organizations.
