Manager, Correspondent Banking

Position Summary:


The Network Manager will be supporting the Senior Manager in the overall responsibility for Scotiabank's network of Vostro/Nostro accounts including day-to-day management as well as the worldwide inventory of Vostro/Nostro accounts.

The Network Manager will also be supporting the due diligence over the Vostro/Nostro network as prescribed by Scotiabank's procedures governing Vostro/Nostro accounts including but not limited to ensuring that the correspondent banks adhere to the Vostro/Nostro agreements as well as provide governance over the operational procedures outsourced to internal partners.


Key Accountabilities:


 1.  The Network Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the network of Vostro/Nostro accounts including managing the day-to-day inquiries and requests from the network users. In addition, should have a complete understanding and control of the Vostro/ Nostro global database and correspondent bank relationships.
 2.  Maintains an accurate and current view of the Vostro/Nostro network and ensures the network is aligned to regulatory requirements and risk appetite. 
 3.  Interacts and aligns with the Vostro/Nostro network users to ensure the network is easily accessible, provide guidance, advice, and consultative support.
 4.  Will be knowledgeable on the due diligence processes and will continually review the portfolio of Vostro/ Nostro accounts to ensure the accounts are aligned to our due diligence processes and risk appetite.
 5. Continually review the Vostro/Nostro network for opportunities of process improvements that would render the network more efficient and effective.




1. Minimum of 5 years experience in Correspondent Banking or related areas, with focus on Payments
2. Ability to communicate effectively with the stakeholders and ability to engage and manage in a complex, diverse environment.  
3. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to also focus on the details.
4. Ability to work as a strong team player.
5. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task multiple and conflicting priorities.


Education and Other Requirements:


1. Undergraduate university degree preferably in business.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to present ideas and facilitate discussions with stakeholders. 
3. Expertise in supporting teams and stakeholders in cross-functional groups, through the ability to influence and garner a strong internal and external network.
