The Toronto Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) at University Health Network, Sinai Health and Women's College Hospital, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, is recruiting a full-time radiologist in the Breast Division with the option of cross appointment in Women’s Imaging, if interested. The successfal candidate must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2021.


The JDMI Breast Division operates across the following Institutions: Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Sinai Health and Women’s College Hospital. Collectively, there is a wide spectrum of imaging services offered, including mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, MR imaging, and image-guided biopsies (predominantly ultrasound and stereotactic guided biopsies and pre-operative needle localizations), tomosynthesis guided biopsies and MRI guided biopsies. We are a busy breast imaging facility with 10 mammographic units (Hologic and GE), 10 dedicated breast ultrasound units and 4 MRI units used for Breast Imaging across the 3 sites.  Breast workload per annum is as follows: mammogram 40,000, ultrasound 13,000, Breast MR 5,000, ultrasound biopsies 2,000, stereotactic biopsies 450, MRI biopsies 300, image guided localizations 1,000. The successful candidate will join a team of 9 breast radiologists and 5 fellows.


In addition to the clinical responsibilities, the successful candidate will have academic interests and responsibilities. The JDMI Breast Division is an active teaching site, training both residents and fellows. Many exciting research and pilot projects are underway in the division. Either education or research interests would be of benefit.


Candidates must hold a MD degree or equivalent, must have had formal fellowship training in Breast / Women’s Imaging and be licensed or eligible for licensure in the province of Ontario. The qualifying candidate should be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications.
