Course description: Gross anatomy of the human body taught from a regional viewpoint.  The course includes 9 hours of lectures and 122 hours of laboratories with human cadaveric dissection and the use of prosections.  Clinical anatomy is included.

Estimated course enrolment: 18-24 students

Class schedule: Monday 1:00 – 3:00pm & Friday 1:00 – 3:00pm

Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2021 – December 20, 2021


Sessional Lecturers I - $16,979.33
Sessional Lecturers I (Long Term) - $17,738.50

Sessional Lecturers II - $18,171.15   

Sessional Lecturers III - $18,603.79

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.


  • MD or PhD in anatomy related health science is required
  • Teaching experience at the university level required
  • Demonstrated evidence of excellence in teaching and mastery of the subject area is preferred
  • Demonstrated evidence of teaching excellence in a cadaveric lab setting
  • Previous experience in teaching a similar course is highly desirable

Description of duties: Preparation and delivery of course material; preparation and delivery of tests, final examinations; supervision of teaching assistants; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours.
