BWSR is currently seeking a CAD Designer for its Idaho Falls, Idaho location.


The CAD Designer/Draftsman will be part of a diverse and multi-discipline team working a variety of projects including new installation and renovation of existing nuclear facilities.


Job Description/Duties:


  • Designs and creates part drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Creates piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID).
  • Creates electrical schematic drawings.
  • Prepares drawing packages and associated documentation in accordance with ASME Y 14 and job specific approved standards and procedures.
  • Follow work to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Call out welds, produce weld maps, and weld data sheets in accordance with applicable welding codes.
  • Perform in field measurements and produce as-built drawings (this includes climbing ladders, accessing tight clearance areas, elevated heights, etc.)



  • Associate's degree in engineering, design/drafting, or a science discipline.
  • Four years' experience with all of the following Autodesk BIM and CAD tools: Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD and Navisworks Manage.
  • Experience with ArcGIS, Autodesk Inventor and Microsoft Office.
  • Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of project engineering activities (task plans, schedules, etc.) a plus.
  • Strong team player with the ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Previous experience in the nuclear or radiological field is desirable.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen - no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain or maintain a DOE "L" security clearance - Current clearance a plus.
  • Must obtain and maintain Radiological Controls and other qualifications as directed by Naval Reactors.
