Information Scientist

CAS is currently seeking an Information Scientist. This position will be based in our headquarters in Columbus, OH.

The successful candidate will be contributing to two or all of the following areas:

 

  • Resolve indexing problems for documents in multiple areas of life science, especially those related to immunology, immunochemistry, and new technology developments. Make appropriate registrations and add lab codes / trade names / trivial names to CAS Registry to maintain the comprehensiveness and high quality of CAS databases.
  • Assign CAS Index Names to biosequences, especially those of antibodies
  • Support other functions and new initiatives in the Authority Database Operations and Content Operations

 

Qualifications:

 

  • A degree in immunology, biochemistry, pharmacology, molecular biology, molecular physiology, chemistry, or a related field.
  • An advanced degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will have combined knowledge of immunology and biopharmaceuticals or equivalent working experiences.
  • A self-driven person who is open-minded and motivated to expand skills and domain knowledge
  • Good reading comprehension and scientific writing skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communications skills, including the ability to communicate with peers with diverse backgrounds
  • Foreign language knowledge would be helpful.
