The Homeland Protection Systems Group works with US government agencies and military partners to develop, assess, and rapidly transition advanced systems in support of the Homeland’s strategic interests. The group has deployed novel technology solutions to address security challenges in the national airspace, in urban centers, and at critical infrastructure sites. We specialize in systems integration, systems analysis, and field testing, especially as related to air security operations. Laboratory Description: MIT Lincoln Laboratory, located in Lexington, Massachusetts, is a United States Department of Defense research and development center chartered to apply advanced technology to problems of national security. Job Description: Our group is seeking highly motivated entry level scientists and engineers who are interested in solving challenging technical problems. Typical activities for our analysts include modeling, data analysis, and algorithm development while working as part of an interdisciplinary team. In this role, the candidate will help to develop/implement techniques for analysis of varied data sets, implement leading edge data processing and algorithms from academia, and work within our team for concept development. The candidate will work with an experienced team to learn about the homeland protection mission and to develop a career path matching their technical interests. Required Skills:
• B.S./B.A. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, ComputerScience, or related field with a strong background in physical sciences.
• Proficiency in a high-level programming language such as MATLAB or Python
• Ability to work independently or as part of team
• A minimum GPA of 3.5

Strong Candidates will have one or more of the desired skills:

• Prior real-world data or systems analysis experience
• Experience in data collection, signal processing, and the physics of sensor operation
• Strong public speaking or technical communication
