Position Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and certification in your current area of specialty within 2 years or 2,000 hours.
2 years experience in cardiology, cardiac cath lab experience preferred.
This position will need to recognize the needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated, i.e., understand child growth and development, normal patterns of child, adolescent and adult behavior and aging. Prior experience with various age groups is preferred.

Proficiency in the operation and understanding of technical equipment.
Strong PC skills.
CPR Certification
Current licensure/certification in State of Illinois (i.e., Registered Nurses).
Ability to travel locally and long distances.
Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations.
Ability to assume 24 hour accountability for areas of responsibility.
May be exposed to hazardous materials and life threatening diseases.
Ability to do light to medium lifting according to DOL Guidelines.


If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

Purpose:
Provides a high degree of professional competence in the field of cardiovascular implants and devices. Utilizes advanced clinical expertise and leadership to plan, develop and implement educational programs, standards of care, policies and competency assessment for staff providing care within range of services. Serves as a resource to staff, physicians and patients with regards to cardiovascular implant devices.

Accountabilities:
Provides implant support (clinical/technology).
Serves as a teaching resource/expert (education).
Develops and supports protocol for pacemakers/defibrillator service (clinical/practitioner).
Implementation of cost~effectiveness materials management system consistent with revenue/expense budget. (Administrative)
