Statistical Consultant

Primarily responsible for analyzing and interpreting claims, clinical and administrative data, and evaluating trends and statistical significance. The Senior Statistical Consultant is a system~wide expert in program evaluation and uses advanced statistical skills to help define high performing networks and high quality, cost effective patient care practices. This position works closely with technical teams to facilitate and drive efficient data mining, analysis, and system~wide reporting. The Senior Statistical Consultant serves as an expert resource across the system, consulting on and conducting statistically complex analyses, and translating the results of these analyses to executives and clinical leadership. This position coordinates the work of team statisticians and reviews work for statistical and practical significance. This position initiates and manages all analytic plans, conducts literature reviews to inform analytic projects, and submits work for publication or conference presentation.


  • Appropriately applies statistical methodologies (descriptive statistics, confidence intervals, correlation, ANOVA, measures of statistical significance, regression, propensity matching) and coordinates the work of the statistician to provide in~depth, sophisticated analyses.
  • Manages and executes the analytic project life cycle, including conduct literature review, create and maintain the analysis plan, data acquisition and cleansing, conduct statistical analyses, link findings to strategy and operations, communicate findings to executives, and prepare analytic work for publication or conference presentation.
  • Provides in~depth, thoughtful consultation to team members and leaders on statistical analysis


Position Requirements:

  • Education Required: Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Business Administration or Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Business Analytics or Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Actuarial Science or related field.
  • Experience Required: Typically requires 5 years of experience in research, evidence of publication/conference presentation and experience using advanced statistical techniques.
  • Experience with classical statistical methods, including hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, sample size determination, ANOVA, and regression analysis.
  • Exposure to machine learning, Bayesian applications, and propensity matching.
  • Intermediate skills using a statistical software program (SAS, R).
  • Competent ability to create queries in SQL or other query languages/systems.
  • Proficient with MS~Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Desire to learn with strong intellectual curiosity.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and lead teams on complex projects.
  • Ability to work independently for project completion with little to no supervision.
