In the Technology Development Engineering Group (TDE) in Boise, ID, you will work in a multi-functional team of engineers and researchers, highly experienced in plasma physics, chemistry, and hardware. This team’s primary responsibility is discovering potential solutions to Micron’s most significant challenges in our Memory roadmaps.


Your role comprises mainly executing a project that directly complements one of our group’s critical projects. This project involves testing chemicals on patterned wafer pieces, characterizing certain surface interactions, detailing and reporting results to one of our senior engineers/researchers collaborating with them on next steps. This is an applied chemistry work, not synthesis.

  • Intellectual aggressiveness – be comfortable asking questions, and advocating for next steps in your project with supporting data.
  • Independence – be comfortable executing activities and needs.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Experience in a chemistry lab environment.

Pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry. Graduation date should not be prior to September 1, 2020.
