RN - Outpatient - General and Thoracic Surgery

Virginia Mason’s General and Thoracic Surgery outpatient clinic is seeking a full-time (40 hours per week) day shift clinic RN Monday-Friday.  In this position you will support our colorectal surgery team within the General Surgery department.

In this position you will:

  • Coordinate and facilitate ambulatory patient management across the continuum of care for colorectal surgical patients.
  • Provide skilled triage and assessment, education, collaboration and coordination of healthcare and community resources for patients.
  • Support the care team by assisting in clinical procedures.
  • Support the care team in the provision of patient care, to include communication and collaboration within the care team.
  • Provide patient advice, both written and over the phone
  • Be involved in coordination of patient care throughout their surgical episode including pre-operative referral management, and post-operative follow-up.

Qualifications:

·       Current Washington State licensure as an RN

·       CPR certification is required every two years

·       Bachelor of Science in Nursing

·       Strong patient assessment skills, ability to work collaboratively in team setting, current working knowledge of electronic medical records.
