HR Assistant Co-op - RACE21

Reporting to the Employee Development Advisor, the HR Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Digital Talent Hub in the areas of recruitment and onboarding.


4 month Term – January to April



  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Provide administrative support to the recruitment teams such as scheduling interviews, candidate pipelining, reference checks, processing testing and background checks etc.
  • Provide support with candidate management in applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Assist with reporting recruiting metrics
  • Coordinate hand-off from the recruitment team and provide support with onboarding activities such as welcoming new hires, arranging for hardware delivery with site support, working with hiring managers and squads to establish onboarding plans, assisting with facilitation of orientation etc.
  • Take initiative on new and exciting recruitment projects such as employer branding development and company onboarding
  • Assist with office administration in managing the process of return to work of employees working remotely
  • Other duties as required



  • A fourth year student completing a post-secondary business program, preferably in Human Resources
  • Must have completed at least 1 prior work term in an HR department
  • High energy, driven and motivated individual
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Passionate about technology and the impact of emerging technologies
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion in dealing with sensitive matters
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
