Job Description

Position:   Yield Engineer
Shift:          Day Shift (Sunday – Thursday)

Position Summary:
Yield engineer needed to support GaAs fab in 24x7 production operation environment.  Scope of work involve lot disposition, failure analysis, lot summary and driving meetings to correct issues and improve yields.  Day to day work involve review of wafer maps, determination of failure modes, ink-out of failures, visual inspection, Focus Ion Beam (FIB), SEM inspection, EDX analysis, thermal and IV test to determine root cause of low yield.  Engineer will maintain documents, summarize wafer data, coordinate engineering technicians to disposition held wafers, categorize defects, review wafer maps and lot history to disposition lots in timely manner. 
Primary Responsibility:

Troubleshoot and disposition problem lots. Review wafer map, lot history, visual & electrical data. Perform visual inspection, SEM, FIB, thermal analysis and IV analysis to find root cause of issue. Summarize and present wafer defect data to management. Find root cause, drive corrective action to improve fab yields. Review probe and merged maps.  Revise and edit maps as necessary. Use programs, such as Bin Change and Galaxy, to perform ink-out. Perform wafer scraps, split lots and place future holds.

Job Requirements:

BSEE or science degree required.  Master’s or higher degree preferred. Fab experience preferred. Must be able to effectively communicate with other teams. Be able to quickly troubleshoot and find cause of wafer problems. Ability to good exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action needed to resolve lot issues Be able to work in fast paced production environment
