Student Worker,Journalism for CECH Marketing

Student Job Opportunity – Where Journalism meets MarketingWe are looking for a student worker who is studying journalism and has exceptional writing and editing skills. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our Journalism Student worker will be responsible for the following:

  • Create content pieces to fulfill the marketing department needs and articulate our faculty research, breaking news from our centers and partnerships, student stories, among other content
  • Create and curate content for our social media channels, while assisting and maintaining a calendar of content
  • Have an understanding for writing content published on our website using SEO tactics and understanding how to research keywords
  • Conduct interviews with students, faculty, and staff for potential stories
  • Assist in creating communication plans and email series for various purposes such as webinars, events, and general admissions




To be considered for this position you must meet the following requirements:

  • Is at least 16 years of age
  • Enrolled at a post-secondary institution or a secondary school at least part-time (one (1) or more credit hours if at a post-secondary institution), except for summer term, or will be a registered student during the next academic term
  • Must be enrolled in Journalism, English, or related discipline as major

This opportunity is open to students in all academic majors

  • Must have a special interest in writing, marketing, and/or communications
  • Need effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and experience with the Microsoft Suite
  • Have strong grammar and editing skills
  • Should be self-starting, organized, and possess strong attention to detail
  • Ability to function as part of a team, and possess strong problem-solving, multitasking, and time management skills

Flexible scheduling – need to be available during the day


Main Campus – College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services


Hourly Rate - $10.00 / hour
