Echocardiography Sonographer - registry

Position Requirements:
Completion of AMA approved program in cardiovascular technology which includes echocardiography
Eligible for registration as diagnostic cardiac sonographer. 1 Year clinical experience in cardiovascular ultrasound imaging. New hire must be ARDMS or CCI Certified within 1 year of hire. Performs standard and complex 2D and Doppler Echocardiograms. Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Ability to work well with others.
Good communication skills.
Good organizational skills. Certification: ARDMS or CCI. Must be registered by ARDMS or CCI within one year of hire.
CPR Certification.

Weekends, holidays, STAT call~in order to accommodate staffing needs.
Assist/support/move ambulatory patients
Position patients for exams
May be exposed to infectious disease and biohazardous material.

If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

To provide the interpreting physician, through the noninvasive diagnostic imaging techniques of ultrasound, a complete and accurate documentation of cardiac anatomy and cardiac performance for pediatric and adult patients.
To assist the physician in determining cardiac structure and myocardial performance via transthoracic echo (TTE), transesophageal echo studies (TEE), stress echocardiograms and dobutamine stress echocardiograms.

Provides competent and proficient technical skills in the performance of STAT and routine cardiac ultrasounds implementing procedural standards and protocols for the following modalities:
Provides quality clerical functions necessary for physcian's interpretation, department records and patient billing including correct and clear writing of measurements and fax #s.
Maintains a safe and efficient work environment. Places work order to Clin Eng regularly when equipment functions improperly.
Interacts with medical staff, nurses and other hospital departments regarding patient care and department procedures in a kind, respectful, professional manner.
