RN Informatics will guide nursing, staff and IS in the design, implementation, adoption, and integration of information systems and clinical technologies in collaboration with operational leaders. They apply in-depth knowledge of the functional aspects of application systems to optimize clinical workflows and user efficiency, utilizing data to optimize patient care in a measurable way. Informatics facilitates the definition and benchmark of metrics to improve performance and adherence to clinical guidelines.


Education: BSN required. MSN preferred.

Experience: Five years of acute care nursing experience required. Prior Epic or other clinical information system design/build/implementation experience preferred. Desired experience includes data analysis, data management associated with systems evaluation, clinical research, and analysis tools and methodologies. Project management and leadership experience preferred. Working knowledge of quality improvement and process/policy development and documentation preferred.

Skills: Thorough understanding of current developments and trends in data processing and systems. Demonstrated ability to do systematic, thorough problem solving and to initiate client problem resolution. Ability to establish, conceive and describe systems, designs, flow charts, time schedules and network requirements. Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis activities. Strong interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a wide range of people, including peers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Self-motivated and engaged, able to lead design initiatives while remaining detail and goal oriented.
