The Logistics Specialist will assist in multiple areas within the Operations department and will be a leader on the Logistics Team. Daily tasks will vary, and will include both Shipper/Receiver and PTO ("pick to order") Clerk functions, involving receiving and verifying in-coming material and supplies, preparing and shipping finished product to customers and ABIOMED field support, picking material and kitting product to build fished goods, receiving and delivering mail. This individual will provide additional support to the Operations group as needed.  


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive, unpack, and pack warehouse in-coming and outgoing materials and supplies¬†
  • Decontaminate incoming materials
  • Preparation (kitting, labeling, etc.) of outgoing packages prior to shipping products¬†
  • Sort and inventory on daily basis and report to FS Operation team¬†
  • Make entries into inventory database (SAP), prepare periodic reports
  • Make entries to salesforce
  • Prepare necessary documents for shipping goods
  • Assist with spare parts
  • Evaluate problems and make initial recommendations for possible corrective action to the supervisor
  • May be required to operate a forklift or other loading/stacking heavy equipment


Required Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent experience
  • 1 year of shipping/receiving experience in a high-volume setting
  • Positive attitude and a focus on getting the job done
  • Excellent communication & customer service skills
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to utilize basic math skills
  • Valid US driver‚Äôs license, as on occasion driving to the FEDEX depot will be necessary
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow SOPs, manufacturing and inspection procedures
  • Computer literacy
  • The ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Large MRP system knowledge desired, SAP preferred
  • Working Knowledge of Salesforce preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Medical device experience preferred

Physical Demands: The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, climb, use hands, fingers, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.  The employee is frequently required to lift and / or move up to 35 lbs. and occasionally lift and / or move up to 75 lbs.
