The Strategic Operations Team within the SAP Global Security’s Cybersecurity Defense and Design organization manages all strategic objectives, projects and engagements for the cybersecurity organization. The team works closely together with the SAP Global Security Leadership Team, as well as with various Lines of Business at SAP to secure the SAP enterprise and enhance SAP’s security posture. 
The team has a global coverage and is looking for a Security Project Principal Consultant (f/m/d) to plan and manage projects and initiatives within the Cybersecurity organization at SAP, as well as to own dedicated areas of expertise within the team – e.g. risk, compliance, etc.
As a Security Project Principal Consultant (f/m/d) within the team, you will plan and manage variously-sized projects, initiatives, and programs within the Global Security organization at SAP. Your responsibilities will consist of various strategic, operational and administrative duties within the area of cybersecurity. In addition to these, you will have the chance to generate and own content within the projects and enhance your knowledge about cybersecurity.     
The Role:

  • Translate SAP cybersecurity strategic objectives and models into work plans and deliverables
  • Determine, define, and socialize project scope, objectives, and schedule; ensure that project objectives meet SAP’s cybersecurity strategic vision and plan 
  • Plan and source resources required to meet the objectives in an effective and efficient manner 
  • Consistently track project costs and project schedule to meet the budget needs and timelines 
  • Drive visibility, transparency, and consistent communication and reporrting across the organization to ensure timely escalations and dependencies management 
  • Identify and analyse project risks; collaborate with stakeholders to mitigate risks and avoid recurrence 
  • Establish a risk management methodology within the team and support other team members by monitoring and mitigating risks
  • Drive efficiencies through the implementation and management of comprehensive processes that empower the organization to secure the enterprise and products  
  • Assist leadership in developing and tracking program performance metrics
  • Prepare reports outlining the progress and adjustments of cybersecurity project(s), program(s), and/or initiative(s) for various stakeholders 
  • Drive executive-level awareness and sponsorship of cybersecurity strategy, threats, risks, challenges, and successes                
  • Manage vendor contracts and budgets 
  • Contribute to/drive Project Management learning circles across SAP to share best practices and areas for improvement in the Project Management standards and lifecycle 
  • Incorporate emerging trends in security and internal business drivers to continually evolve the security program
  • Mentor junior Project Managers in their day-to-day responsibilities 

Experience (Role Requirements):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines or similar work experience
  • Very deep knowledge on project management frameworks 
  • Good understanding of cybersecurity is an asset
  • Good presentation skills and leadership skills
  • Openness to work with global, and virtual teams from different areas
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills in both German and English (oral, written)
  • Security Certifications like Security+, PMI, etc. are an asset
  • Minimum 7 years years of experience working in project management in relevant areas (e.g. cybersecurity, IT, product development, etc.) 
  • 3 - 5 years of experience working in a security organization or similar
