Plating/Process Engineer

Vishay Thin Film is currently seeking a Full-Time Process Engineer to develop new or improve existing processes with the goal of improving yields, improving product quality and reducing manufacturing costs.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Using a team oriented approach, with a cross functional team, identify yield improvement and/or cost reduction opportunities and develop a project plan to execute projects on time and within budget.
  • Develop equipment specifications to ensure proper procurement of equipment from initial specification to release to production.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for equipment including equipment maintenance procedures and spare parts lists.

  • Train production, maintenance technician and other engineering personnel on equipment and maintenance as required.
  • Attend meetings and work effectively with other Vishay personnel to reduce scrap and improve manufacturing efficiencies in wide range of manufacturing processes.
  • Develop action plans including events sequence and timetable to meet assigned objectives and prepare weekly reports detailing progress.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Plating experience (rack, barrel, & spouted bed electrode electroplating and electroless) is the preferred skill set.  This includes chemical handling knowledge as well as process understanding.  Will consider candidates with similiar skills and/or a combination of experience.
  • Lean six-sigma belt (green or higher) or equivalent industrial engineering skill is highly desired.
  • Skill with termination hot solder dip is a desired.
  • This position requires hands on work performing process studies, audits, and working closely with manufacturing personnel to identify opportunities for reducing manufacturing costs and improve yields. Direct manufacturing of product may be required to gain a better understanding of how product is manufactured.
