Police Record Management Technician

The City of Brainerd is seeking a qualified candidate for a Police Records Management Technician. This is a challenging & responsible position providing intermediate to skilled admin. support services in the operation of the Police Dept. Records Unit. Primary duties include transcription, case file processing, uniform crime coding, data entry, customer service & general clerical support.

Minimum Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED equivalent; and
* Two years of office clerical experience. Secondary education coursework in office practices or law enforcement can substitute for up to one-half of the experience required.
* Previous law enforcement records management and transcription experience is desirable.
* Satisfactory completion of Dept. of Public Safety background exam including fingerprint background check.

This position is represented by IBEW Local No. 31 (Administrative Support) Union contract describing wage and benefits. The hiring range is $20.69 - $23.79 per hour. The pay range is $20.69 - $27.94 per hour.
