Material Handler

 

We at Leggett & Platt Automotive are looking for a Material Handler to join our rapidly growing Automotive Team in Carthage, MO. We are a multi-billion-dollar globally diversified company that designs and manufactures various engineered components and products. Our growing automotive business unit, which exceeds one billion dollars in sales, is comprised of four main product segments with operations on three continents. Our customers include OEM and Tier 1 automotive companies.In this role, you will report to the Logistic Coordinator and take care of the unloading and loading of goods whilst maintaining a Safety-First approach in all activities. You will commission and store goods correctly and transfer material correctly in our system. As part of the Customer Service Team you will have multiple interactions with many areas to establish efficient processes to meet our customers’ needs. What you will be doing?

  • Responsible for trouble-free unloading and loading of goods complying to all relevant safety rules.
  • Responsible for correct labelling, freight preparation (commissioning) and storing in the warehouse (correct location).
  • Responsible for in time line supply of raw material and dispatch of finished goods from production line into work in process or finished goods in the warehouse with implemented system (KANBAN, production orders, etc.)
  • Responsible for correct transfer bookings in the system.
  • Ensure permanent compliance of used equipment to regulator and L&P requirements.
  • Ensure adequate supply of prepared empty packaging for production.
  • Responsible for waste disposal.
  • Fulfill assigned primary, secondary, and/or tertiary deputy/back-up roles as assigned and required on occasion by the business.

 


We are looking for someone with:

  • Ability to safely drive a forklift and maintain a clean driving record
  • Ability to observe and process product storage in the warehouses
  • Ability to correctly transfer supplies to ensure production meets defined targets
  • Ability to process company software and databases to properly label and store products
  • Hands-on mentality and excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Social and intercultural competence as well as good interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Commitment to 100% safety, quality and continuous improvement
  • Ability to interact positively with employees of all levels across the organization
