    This National Guard position is for a EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D2224000 and is part of the OH 179 Airlift Wing, Ohio Air National Guard.

    Responsibilities

    As a EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-0089-9, you will perform the following duties:

    1) Assists in the development and coordination of plans and procedures for implementation and execution of the RED HORSE Emergency Management Plan (IEMP 10-2). Reviews existing plans to ensures EM planning and response actions are included in the Anti-Terrorism Force Protections (AT/FP), Medical Contingency Response, Disease Containment Plans, state and local plans (as applicable), Emergency Operations Center (EOC), and CBRN Control Center checklists in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) directives, National Response Framework (NRF) organization, National Incident Management System (NIMS), and the Air Force Incident Management System (AFIMS).

    2) Assists in conducting initial/recurring training for functional areas of EM. Records and maintains documentation of training in electronic and/or automated system(s). Assists with analyzing course content to tailor training programs to meet local requirements.

    3) Maintains Emergency Management response equipment, training resources, and supply inventories. Establishes and maintains flight property, Technical Order System, and Air Force Metrology and Calibration (AFMETCAL) accounts.

    4) Performs other duties as assigned.

    Ohio Air National Guard Membership is required.

    Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

    Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.

    May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

    MILITARY REQUIREMENTS
    :

    Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the Ohio Air National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact an Ohio Air National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.

    Military Grades: E-3 through E-7

    Compatible Military Assignments: 3E9X1

    Must successfully complete technical military training school basic EM Apprentice course and the CBRN Responders Course upon selection.

    Qualifications
    GENERAL EXPERIENCE : All series personnel must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level and must have a minimum of one year on-the-job experience in the grade immediately below the next higher level. An applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade.

    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : The position develops, manages, and executes the EM programs, ensuring all military, civilian and contract personnel are trained and equipped to support home station and worldwide contingency operations. Skilled in preparing and briefing emergency management plans. Ability to speak distinctly. Knowledgeable in personnel activations and deployments. Knowledge of readiness status reports. Knowledge of readiness status reports.

    ***If serving under an incentive contract, termination of that incentive(s) will occur effective one day prior to your AGR, Permanent Military Technician, or Indefinite Military Technician start date. Temporary Military Technicians will have their incentive terminated if their tour exceeds 179 days in a continuous 12-month period.***
