Salary: Up to £150,000 - 200,000 + bonus
The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Senior Python Engineer to join a high-performing technology team within a leading financial services client in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Python engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, building scalable systems and working in a fast-paced, high-performance financial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain high-performance Python applications and services.
- Develop robust, scalable and production-quality software.
- Work closely with quantitative, trading, technology and business stakeholders.
- Contribute to technical architecture and engineering best practices.
- Optimise systems for performance, reliability and scalability.
- Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture.
- Troubleshoot complex production and technical issues.
About You
- Extensive professional experience with Python and modern Python development practices.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience designing scalable systems.
- Experience working with distributed systems, APIs and/or data-intensive applications.
- Strong understanding of testing, CI/CD and software development best practices.
- Comfortable working in a demanding, collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience within financial services, banking, trading, investment management or another high-performance technology environment is highly desirable.
