Our client are specialists in designing and installing complex structural and architectural glazed solutions and are now seeking to hire aDesigner to join a very experienced team of Design Managers and Senior Design Managers working on a range of specialist architectural glazing projects in the commercial building sector. Support and training would be provided to enable the successful candidate to grow and develop in the role.
Responsible for the production and management of design and technical documentation for commercial architectural glazing projects from project award to final account. Use specialist computer software including AutoCad and Revit (BIM) to produce plans and technical drawings for fabrication, and modeling a range of products and components (2D and 3D).
Designer Responsibilities:
- To ensure buildability, safety, cost, and access are considered when producing designs.
- Liaise with internal and external departments to ensure client requirements are fully understood and compliant.
- Ensure all plans and drawings are in line with the specification, acoustic, and fire requirements.
- To ensure client drawing protocol is complied with where applicable and upload to the project portals.
- Complete drawing registers, door and screen schedules, and deliverables, throughout the project.
- Work to ensure all drawings and plans are thoroughly checked by the Senior Design Department team prior to submission.
- Attend design coordination meetings externally with main contractors and architects.
- Coordinate interface detailing with other fit out trades is pivotal to the role
- Build relationshipswith engineers, suppliers and produce fabrication drawings.
- Follow design processes and update project files.
- Ensure knowledge and awareness of your roles and responsibilities under the Company’s integrated management systems in relation to Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental.
Key Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 3 year’s experience working in a design role within a commercial architectural or high end fit out background
- Proven experiencein design software including AutoCad and Revit (BIM).
- Previous experience working with architect's plans and drawings as well as manufacturing details and requisitions.
- Ability to convert verbal and written information into 2D and 3D drawings with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and able to use initiative.
