We're recruiting on behalf of a leading infrastructure organisation delivering a nationally significant rail project.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Design Interface Engineer to support the integration of complex rail, civil, utilities, and infrastructure works across a major project. You'll play a key role in managing design interfaces, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring designs are fully integrated, buildable, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage design interfaces across rail systems, civils, utilities, and third-party stakeholders.
  • Coordinate internal and external designers to ensure timely delivery of design information.
  • Identify and resolve interface issues, risks, and constraints throughout the design process.
  • Support engineering workshops, design reviews, and technical integration meetings.
  • Maintain and manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and interface records.
  • Ensure designs meet safety, quality, programme, and contractual requirements.
  • Support risk management, change control, and technical assurance activities.
  • Promote best practice in health, safety, sustainability, and buildability.

About You

  • Degree-qualified in Engineering, Construction, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in Interface Management, Systems Integration, or Design Coordination on major infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering, utilities, structures, or rail infrastructure.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, reports, and design documentation.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary stakeholders and technical interfaces.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Chartered status or working towards chartership.
  • Knowledge of BIM, digital engineering, and 3D design reviews.
  • Experience with ICDs, risk management, change control, and technical assurance processes.
  • Understanding of track, signalling, rail systems, or depot environments.
