We’re partnering with a highly regarded technology-driven firm seeking a skilled Database Engineer with deep expertise in PostgreSQL. This is a hands-on role within a global team tasked with supporting high-performance, highly available systems.
You’ll play a key role in designing, deploying, and maintaining cross-platform database solutions across a mix of open-source and enterprise technologies. Collaborating closely with developers, infrastructure engineers, and investment professionals, your work will directly impact core business functions.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Engineer for reliability, scale, and performance, with a focus on automation and DevOps principles
- Design and implement backup, HA, and disaster recovery strategies
- Tune queries and optimize performance at both the system and code levels
- Collaborate across multiple internal teams on infrastructure and architecture decisions
- Leverage scripting (Python, Ruby, or Perl) for automation and operational tasks
- Own projects from design to deployment within an agile, fast-paced environment
What We’re Looking For:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL database environments
- Strong understanding of database internals – indexing, triggers, stored procedures
- Scripting skills in Python, Ruby, or Perl
- Familiarity with version control workflows and DevOps methodologies
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
