We’re looking for experienced Technical Leads to drive delivery across complex, mission‑critical programmes in the Defence & Security sector. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll shape technical direction, lead high‑performing teams, and deliver impactful solutions in challenging environments.
What You’ll Do
- Lead multi‑disciplinary engineering teams across the full delivery lifecycle
- Set technical direction, architecture, and engineering standards
- Stay hands‑on with development while guiding team output
- Run code and design reviews to ensure quality and consistency
- Mentor and support engineers at all levels
- Work closely with clients to shape requirements and build trusted relationships
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
- Plan delivery, estimate work, and manage priorities
- Balance technical debt with delivery timelines in fast‑paced environments
What You’ll Need
- Proven experience in a Technical Lead or senior engineering role
- Strong software engineering background with hands‑on capability
- Experience leading cross‑functional teams in complex environments
- Ability to define architecture and make sound technical trade‑offs
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working directly with clients or end users
Bonus Skills
- Experience in Defence, Security, or other high‑assurance environments
- Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies
- Strong understanding of scalable systems and modern architectures
Security Requirement
SC clearance (or willingness/eligibility to obtain) is required.
