Job Description

We are looking for a Finance Analyst to join our Specialist Wholesale Group on a 12-month max‑term contract.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will support strong financial stewardship across the portfolio, with a focus on month‑end execution, accurate reporting, financial controls, governance and compliance.

This is a great opportunity for an Accountant or Finance Analyst who enjoys structured financial processes, problem solving, continuous improvement and working collaboratively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support month‑end close activities including journals, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting
  • Analyse financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying trends, risks and opportunities
  • Prepare and maintain key financial controls including BAS reconciliations, fixed asset reporting and intercompany processes
  • Manage customer rebate calculations, reconciliations and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Support daily, weekly and monthly sales reporting requirements across the business
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis and business performance reporting
  • Support audit requirements, group reporting and compliance activities
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, financial control enhancements and reporting efficiencies

Qualifications

You are a detail‑oriented finance professional who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment and partnering with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.

You will bring:
  • Tertiary qualifications (or progress toward qualification) in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline
  • Experience in a Financial Accountant, Assistant Accountant, Commercial Analyst or similar finance role
  • Strong experience with month‑end processes, reconciliations and financial reporting
  • Understanding of journals, BAS, fixed assets and intercompany accounting processes
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience working with ERP and financial systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • CA/CPA qualification or currently working towards completion
  • Experience within wholesale, distribution, retail or multi‑site environments
