System Test Technician

System Test Technician with experience > 6 months testing Ethernet based systems similar to that used rail vehicle systems.

-Requires no assistance with basic computer skills (file management, manipulation, compressing/extracting files)

-Experience uploading software logic to PLCs (Selectron, ABB, GE, Schneider)

-Ability to retrieve and analyze diagnostic logs from PLCs to provide useful feedback to vendors (signal mapping, good communication, etc)

-Familiarity with basic Ethernet network structure (100baset speeds across cat5e conductor)

-Familiarity with physical layer of Ethernet communications and good practice for cabling/connection methods.

-Proficiency with basic network communication protocols: TCP/IP, DHCP, FTP, SSH, CAN, MVB

-Familiarity with the various DHCP options (Option 82, etc)

-Experience with managed network switch setup

-Comfortable uploading software (.bin, .rom, etc) to embedded Unix-based and WinCE devices with vendor instruction

-Ability to use basic network diagnostic tools: Ping, traceroute, Wireshark, ability to adapt to Fluke network tools
