Purpose and Objective: Ariba, Inc. seeks a Developer at our Palo Alto, CA office location to be responsible for development: focusing on design, coding, testing, and quality assurance of specific product features in a development team.

 

Expectations and Tasks: Analyze and solve issues in existing and new code. Demonstrate full responsibility for accepted tasks and therefore demonstrate a high level of quality, speed, reliability and efficiency. Work closely together with other team members to ensure the team success. Enhance skills beyond own core functional focus and work on other tasks for the benefit of the team. Responsible for full life cycle development of software products including implementing, testing, deployment, and maintenance, as well as evaluating and identifying new technologies that could be helpful additions to the project. Design, code and debug applications in Java. Work in an agile environment working with a talented development team. Build Java backend micro-services and applications, in Sprint, Spring-Boot, Core java, and various libraries in Java. Build, maintain, and work with REST APls. Use Java, SQL/noSQL data stores, MVC architecture, ORMs, dependency injection, serialization, as well as system architecture and deployment framework (e.g. Docker) and continuous integration (e.g. Jenkins). Responsible for end to end development of mobile application both on Android and iOS. Use Android and iOS platforms, OAuth 2, Kafka, and Spring Boot. Develop in Java and Objective C. When serving as a Scrum Master in the LEAN context, responsible for ensuring that Scrum is understood and put into practice properly. The Scrum Master is a "servant-leader" for the Product Owner and the Development Team. Responsible for facilitating Scrum Events on request or as required, coaching the Development Team in self-organization, and removing impediments to the Development Team's progress. 10% travel required.

 

Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and 5 years of experience, or alternatively, a Master's degree and 2 years of experience.

 

Work Experience:

Experience or coursework must involve the following: Mobile and Authentication; end to end development of mobile applications on both Android and iOS; working with various Software and Technologies, including the following tools: Maven, Git, Intellij, Eclipse, JIRA, XCode, Android Studio, Splunk, Confluence; and working with the following technologies: Java 8, JavaScript, Objective C, Android SDK, Spring, Spring Integration, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, AngularJS, Oauth2, SQL, Kafka, Zookeeper, JUnit, Tomcat, Cordova plugins, and Linux. 10% travel required.
