CommScope is hiring an Electrical Engineer in Greensboro, NC


Electrical Engineer position in the Copper Systems R&D Engineering Team responsible for developing telecommunication ethernet products. Includes leading the design effort and adherance to the Product Development Process to support the release of new copper apparatus products as well as driving cost reductions and improvements on existing product lines.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conceives and develops designs for copper connectors and apparatus products.
  • Gains knowledge of industry standards and works closely with Product Line Managers to understand product requirements and ensure designs meet customer and market needs.
  • Work closely with experienced engineers on the team to provide support & gain technical knowledge.
  • Applies engineering principles, practices, and follows development execution procedures to take a design through the product development life cycle.
  • Participate in peer reviews, design reviews, and brainstorming sessions to mitigate risk and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.   
  • Accountable for developing global telecommunication ethernet products used by a wide variety of customers. Project work is reviewed at appropriate milestones to ensure the overall objectives are being met. Business unit performance metrics include adherence to commited project schedules and achieving annual cost savings objectives.


Required Qualifications 

  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree in related curriculum such as Electrical Engineering
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to effectively collaborate with departmental and/or cross-functional personnel.
  • Self-starter having the ability to exercise engineering discipline and attention to detail, striving for flawless execution.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Understanding of transmission line and electromagnetic theory.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS HFSS) and related analytical tools .
  • Knowledge of PCB design layouts for optimum signal transmission integrity.
  • Understanding of Industry Standards as related to Telecommunications.
