ARDMS Registered.

CPR Certification
ARDMS Registered in Abdomen and OB/Gyne.

Must have 2years Ultrasound experience in a hospital or clinical setting.

OBGYN Ultrasound experience preferred

Knowledge and ability to perform all types of ultrasound procedures 

Possess high degree of technical knowledge to perform basic ultrasound studies minimal amount of assistance from interpreting physician if needed.
Able to make diagnostic judgments when scanning and present them to the Radiologist for interpretation.
Effective communication skills.

Ability to adjust to flexible hours at minimum notice as required.
Ability to work odd hours (late hours)
Able to work weekends
Ability to perform lifting activities related to patients.
If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

Perform a wide variety of diagnostic medical sonography procedures on patient for the aid of diagnosis and treatment of patient's illnesses and/or injuries.

Accountabilities:
Positioning of patients and proper selection of technical factors and equipment to obtain scans of optimal quality making use of any necessary immobilization techniques
Documentation for department records (i.e., inventories of supplies and patient statistics) to ensure adequate supplies and proper patient records
Responsible for securing pertinent history from the patient for each procedure in order to provide the Radiologist with adequate information before film interpretation
Compliance with established safety standards to ensure patient and staff well~being at all times.
Responsible for keeping abreast of current ultrasound skills and new developments in the filed of ultrasound and maintaining CME credits and payment of ARDMS due to maintain license
Instruction and assistance as required by students or fellow technologists orienting in ultrasound

Associate Access to Patient Information

Under the federal patient information privacy rules, health~care providers are expected to take 'reasonable safeguards” to prevent inappropriate uses and disclosures of patient information. In addition, the privacy rules require that only the 'minimum necessary” patient information that is needed to care for of the patient or to perform other work is accessed by staff or associates.
This rule applies to all associates and volunteers who work with patients or with patient information and requires that the patient information each associates needs to access be documented. This is done best by including a provision in the associate's job description that identifies the level of access to patient information the associate requires.
All associate job descriptions must be revised to include this provision by March 1, 2003. Managers should work with Human Resources to update all job descriptions and should review their level of access to patient information with all associates, and review the access level with associates annually. Associates need to be aware of the types of patient information, behavioral health information and IS systems they have access to, and report inappropriate system access to their manager.
