Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Scope of the Position

  • Work will include designing, building and deploying reports for periodic manufacturing quality data using Tableau or equivalent software. 
  • Build complex statistical database scripts based on modern quality standards to identify manufacturing failures before they occur. 
  • Provide documentation for database functions and specialized reports using Visio or equivalent. 
  • Provide process improvement suggestions based each project post mortem activities.

Required Education:

  • Student pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical, Computer, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

Required Skills

  • Strong computer skills required (MS Word, Excel, Access, or equivalent). 
  • Strong mathematics and statistical skills and subject interest. 
  • Understanding of general software programming practices.

Desired Skills

  • Strong communication skills. 
  • Previous experience working with databases. 
  • Previous programming experience 
  • Able to think creatively. 
  • Able to work in a team-oriented environment. 
  • Self-motivated.
