JOB SUMMARY

This exempt field-based position is responsible for implementing and reviewing programs that protect the company’s assets and ensure the safety of employees and clients. The District Loss Prevention manager supervises Loss Prevention Agents and Lead Agents within their assigned markets, and builds partnerships with store teams and field leadership through store visits and regular communication. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement effective loss prevention strategies to reduce all shrink related factors.
  • Analyze loss prevention activities and shrink performance to identify areas in need of improvement, and work in partnership with store and regional management to implement appropriate action plans.
  • Administer store audits and communicate findings with the RLPM as well as key business partners.
  • Provide training to store cast and leadership on shrink, theft awareness and theft deterrence.
  • Participate in District and Store conference calls, including presenting and delivering information.
  • Ensure compliance by all managers and employees of company and loss prevention policies.
  • Utilize exception based reporting to identify and resolve theft and shrink activity.
  • Interview employees for theft and policy violations and obtain admissions using company guidelines.
  • Ensure that all store loss prevention systems and programs are fully operational, being regularly maintained, and properly utilized, including CCTV, alarms, locks, etc.
  • Recruit, hire, develop, train and manage Loss Prevention agents for stores in the assigned areas.
  • Cultivate effective relationships with police departments, shopping mall security and management teams.
  • Gather intelligence on organized theft activity as well as other business impacting activities as directed.
  • Regularly check in with RLPM and DM partners, and provide updates on market activity.
  • Provide training and appropriate follow up on any emergencies that impact store business.
  • Execute other responsibilities and projects as assigned by the RLPM or Director of Loss Prevention.
  • Liaise effectively with store management and cast, and other cross-functional teams.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of Loss Prevention experience within multi-unit retail environments.
  • Wicklander-Zulawski certification or Reid certified.
  • Able to travel routinely within assigned locations. Travel is a requirement is approximately 60% of the job and includes local and out of town travel locations.
  • Strong written, verbal, interviewing, listening and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong management/leadership skills necessary to develop cohesive teams.
  • Excellent organization, analytical and auditing skills.
  • Ability to develop plans, policies or procedures in a clear and concise manner.
  • Track record of dealing with sensitive loss prevention issues in an ethical manner.
  • Understanding of criminal and civil law as it applies to the retail environment.
  • Knowledge of electronic security technology and keying systems, and fire suppression systems.
  • Proficient computer skills including loss prevention applications, MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and store systems.
  • Able to work in a fragrance filled environment.
