Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania you will be responsible for the technical design and implementation for power supply and distribution systems (PS&D) for electrified transit systems.

PS&D scope includes: Medium voltage AC switchgear and distribution equipment, DC Traction Power Substations consisting of transformer/rectifiers and dc switchgear, low voltage AC switchgear and distribution equipment, AC and DC UPS, Automatic Assured Receptivity Units (AARU), Automatic Grounding Switches (AGS) Earthing & Bonding, EMC, electrical distribution of third/fourth conductor rail systems, overhead catenary systems, SCADA.

In your role you will:

- Understand and/or perform power distribution analysis: load flow, voltage drop calculations, short circuit study, protection coordination, power quality analysis, and arc flash analysis;
- Design and publish technical drawings or documents such as: electrical distribution analysis documents, distribution single line diagrams, electrical control schematics, equipment technical requirements, interface control documents, SCADA designs, installation details, and test procedures;
- Review and implement Customer technical specifications, local codes and standards, Supplier data, and other pertinent project documentation to ensure requirements compliance;
- Liaise with other Bombardier engineering disciplines, project management, customer representatives, suppliers, and site teams;
- Travel as necessary to project sites and suppliers to achieve objectives. Manage engineering tasks according to schedules;
- Design and execute PS&D SCADA systems for remote monitoring and control. Develop communication architecture and provide PLC programming or other similar control systems;
- Participate in factory acceptance testing and on site commissioning.


As our ideal candidate:

- You hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering;
- You have three (3) to eight (8) years of relevant experience;
- You own experience in Power modelling software;
- You possess experience with SCADA control software programmable logic controllers;
- You have knowledge in electrical power distribution design and control theory;
- You own knowledge in power system distribution equipment;
- You are able to understand or perform calculations related to load flow, voltage drop, short circuit, harmonic, power factor, protection coordination, power quality, and arc flash;
- You have the ability to work in a team environment with multiple disciplinary interfaces;
- You own excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills;
- Your English communications skills are excellent both written and spoken.
