Tech Staff

The Advanced Imager Technology Group is seeking to hire a Technical Staff member to develop next-generation silicon- and germanium-based image sensors, helping the group continue its high impact in support of science and national security. The specific role can be tailored to the strengths of the individual but will be focused on one of the following: leading new important device prototyping efforts,  design of novel CCD and APS-style imagers, development of new device fabrication processes, or device simulation and analysis.

The ideal candidate would have outstanding communications and technical leadership skills and broad working knowledge of detector, readout, and optics technology. A deeper understanding in one of the following areas is preferred: design of detectors, analog circuits, or camera electronics; semiconductor process integration; or characterization/optimization of advanced focal planes for an end-user environment (e.g. astronomical telescope). Moderate travel is required.


Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. In lieu of a PhD, candidates with a MS degree and 7+ years of experience will be considered.
