This position will be responsible for the creation of drawings for multiple component mechanical designs with complex tolerancing.  Responsible for developing detail drawings based on design layouts & standard drafting practices.  Will also complete part structures (BOM’s) and item specific information for accuracy of design intent and application specific information.  Strong knowledge of contemporary manufacturing methods is desirable.  Candidate will work to company-wide design standards and practices that reflect industry best practices.


Applicant shall be a US citizen and be able to obtain a Secret clearance.


Duties and Responsibilities:

•      Creation of 3D models and 2D drawings using Solidworks.

•      Application of GD&T per ASME Y14.5-1982 and 2009.

•      Work within Solidworks PDM environment to maintain 3D models and 2D drawings

•      Implement drawing changes within PDM via Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process.

•      Work closely with manufacturing personnel and engineering to ensure design requirements are met and the best manufacturing processes are used.

•      Provide cross checking of drawings.

•      Support engineering process development and design for manufacturability efforts through specific assignments as directed by engineering management.



•      Associates Degree in an engineering discipline.

•      Understanding of Engineering Principles and Design Practices.

•      Basic understanding of Manufacturing processes.

•      Demonstrated experience with Solidworks.

•      Demonstrated experience with ASME Y14.5-1982 and 2009.

•      Demonstrated ability to create ideas and develop solutions.

Working Conditions:
