Position Overview

This position is responsible for repair, maintenance and Installation of plant electrical equipment. Troubleshoot and repair plant and quarry, mobile, and electrical equipment in accordance with plant and mine operating, MSHA, and safety guidelines.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • To comply with all MSHA, and company safety and environmental requirements in the performance of the job.
  • Perform necessary tasks to ensure good housekeeping for a safe and efficient operation.
  • Perform emergency troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance on low voltage transformers, cables, switches and miscellaneous feedback devices.
  • Install electrical equipment, conductors, instrumentation, lighting and conduit in accordance with the National Electric Code
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems in a systematic, logical manner to determine reasons for failures and necessary steps to make repairs.
  • Adjust, troubleshoot and maintain specialized electrical conduit as precipitators, voltage controls, DC motor voltage control and variable AC controllers
  • Monitor plant HVAC system and other environmental controls
  • Be able to read and work from schematics and detailed instructions.
  • Perform all job assignments using the prescribed safety equipment and procedures in a professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education

  • High School diploma or G.E.D.; prefer Associate Degree in Electronics or equivalent trade school course completion or military training

 

Qualifications

  • Prefer two years of industrial electrical maintenance and/or instrument technician experience with a process flow type manufacturing environment

 

Requirements

  • Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities and must meet qualifications required for this position.
  • Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule to include nights and weekends, and must be able to assist Electrical department with Call Out and work after scheduled shift if need be.
  • Working knowledge of PLC hardware and software troubleshooting, electrical standards, pressure and temperature     transmitters
  • Requires good working knowledge of NEC code, electrical standards, pressure and temperature transmitters, PLC’s, AC and DC drives, motors and their controls.
