Seeking (2) positions to work with paving crews in Jackson, MI.



A vital part of the paving crew, traffic regulator personnel ensure the safety of the crew and the public traveling around the work zone.


Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Employee will implement proper control of traffic for safe movement and protection of road crew and the public.
Employee to be certified per MDOT and ATSAA.  Training provided
Must partner with other crewmembers to set up and provide traffic control to plan specifications as instructed by Traffic Control Supervisor and/or Crew Foreman to insure daily schedules are met.
Attendance required to ensure crew is able to operate at safe and normal efficiency level.
Physical ability to move traffic control equipment, stand and walk under temperature extremes and for extended hours of time. Normal shift is 8-12 hours.
Attitude/cooperation: always maintaining courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers and public.
Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes and time of shift changes. Overtime work required. Night work may be required.
Must be properly trained and able to implement flagging techniques, properly clothed, proper PPE, alert, good eyesight, quick reflexes, promote good public relations and have a thorough understanding of the work zone.
May perform other related traffic control duties, such as, installing, setting in place, repairing traffic devices and erecting signs.
Employee expected to adhere to all Company Safety and Human Resource policies.


Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or GED



Physical Demands:

Able to physically withstand labor and long hours associated with heavy highway construction.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance

May be required to use power and/or hand tools needed to complete jobs within specifications.
Walking and standing occupy most of the work day.
Must be able to adapt and work in extreme weather temperatures.
Job requires the following motions: bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, squatting, throwing, standing and walking.
Requires own transportation to and from job sites.
