Job Purpose:

The Business Analyst II is responsible for research and analysis leading to the definition of requirements and processes to assist in the resolution of complex business problems for the supported Line of Business.  The incumbent is also responsible for participating in the testing of new systems or enhancements, tasks related to troubleshooting application issues to resolution or escalation and providing ongoing support to the supported application units worldwide.


Key Accountabilities:

Reporting to the Manager, the individual will be responsible for:

  1. Assisting the team in resolving multi-faceted problems to meet the needs of the application users worldwide, by applying their financial and technological knowledge to the design of methodologies, models, and/or systems solutions. 
  2. Participating in all  aspects of a systems development life cycle within the Business Analysis team  (Investigation, Requirements Documentation, Test, QA, Data Lineage, Implementation and Support).
  3. Acting as a liaison and primary communication channel between appropriate business line and development teams on requirements, issue resolution, status, project execution and prioritization.
  4. Understanding the stakeholder needs, provide detailed product design specification by way of user stories and assisting in the prioritizing of stories during Sprint planning.
  5. Applying a variety of analysis tools to interpret data and identify patterns.


Functional Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Business Analysis procedures and requirements, as well as technical analysis and design requirements.
  • Experience in writing business requirements for system development.
  • Experience in data analysis and the ability to grasp a customized repository (as defined by a relational or dimensional database) approach.
  • Strong knowledge with SQL knowledge (i.e. pseudo code and queries) for data analysis, data domain and referential integrity verifications.  Some programming skills are desired.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for the purpose of providing reports to management and effectively communicating with the stakeholder community.
  • Creative problem solver, flexible, proactive and able to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
  • Experience working in a project environment and with Agile methodology.



A recognized under-graduate degree in business, econometrics, mathematics or a related discipline, or 3-5 years of practical experience is preferred.
