SAP Concur, the most profitable and fastest growing Software as a Service provider in the world, is looking for a DevOps Manager to support our Bellevue, WA locations. As part of a global Service Management team, you will be focused on the technologies behind SAP Concur’s Cloud Services. This is a fast-growing global team with the ability to make significant difference to SAP Concur’s service offerings by having a strong impact and influence on performance, stability, availability and architecture.


In the first 12 months you will deliver:

  • Open Source and Cloud Tech Chops -- World class system and application administration, public cloud expertise, support, maintenance, configuration management for an industry leading product with over 80 million users
  • Ownership -- Active monitoring and response, automation, continuous integration and delivery while measuring and reporting on customer experience, app health and performance, load & capacity planning and other metrics and analytics
  • Accountability -- Deep troubleshooting around production issues and perform root cause analysis and being on a rotating on-call schedule participating in incident management and resolution
  • Passion -- interact with a variety of technologies and client resources to identify issues and solutions for Concur and Work with 3rd party vendors to manage the identification and resolution of vendor product issues
  • Customer Focus -- Participation in day-to-day service requests for all applications hosted by Concur, working directly with customers, developers and stakeholders in an Agile and DevOps environment
  • Leadership, Community and Collaboration – Leading a rock star DevOps team. Participation on various internal projects and collaborate with non-technical colleagues in a dynamic team and occasionally travel to other Concur offices for training, collaboration and knowledge transfer sessions

You are:

  • A seasoned engineering operations manager who can grow and inspire a team of talented engineers, working with a wide variety of open source technologies to support a webscale, multi-tier, cloud-based, application environment
  • Have deep understanding of modern web technologies -- in a customer facing production environment -- with strong networking experience and advanced application troubleshooting skills
  • Have deep experience with configuration management, maintenance, the CLI and a strong understanding of ITIL principles and Agile practices
  • Have a strong understanding and experience with virtualization technologies - experience using a variety of hypervisors and have experience building on the cloud
  • Have familiarity with service management techniques and tools with experience with issue tracking/ticket/project/workflow software like Jira
  • Demonstrate an understanding (and importance of) using best practice and process, governance and oversight – collaborating with many diverse teams -- to support a secure environment and adhere to compliance regulations
  • A natural team leader who can motivate and encourage technical excellence and have been successful working across organizational boundaries, bringing together people with diverse perspectives and experience to find solutions
  • Capable of leading a discussion with executive management and displays mature mindset and operates independently
  • Comfortable working with a distributed team located in multiple time zones and can work cross functionally with many different teams
  • Ok with participation on various company-wide projects with occasional travel to other Concur offices and being on a rotating on-call schedule participating in incident management and resolution
