Your challenge!

Reporting to the General Manager of the Consumer Packaging Products Business Unit and supported by your local management team, you will be leading the Cascades Flexible Packaging Unit (CFP)  to ensure the realization of the Cascades Specialized Product Groups (SPG) strategic business plan.  You will play a key role in implementing the operational excellence vision by integrating new technologies into the current business and developing the right talents to form solid synergy .  The recent installation and start-up of a sate-of-the-art 10 colour press is an example of the strategic investments that Cascades has made to support the SPG growth.

Job Responsibilities

  • Health and safety is the cornerstone to reliable operations and is an essential part of Cascades operating standards. You will be responsible to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all the site employees and any other persons that may be visiting the facility.
  • The plant manager will develop and implement an operations strategy for this unit in line with the SPG’s vision;
  • The plant manager will manage and engage the staff based on Cascades’ values and business strategy;
  • Daily plant operations and manufacturing processes which include pre-production, production and logistics are overseen by the plant manager. The position is responsible for the enforcement of all policies and procedures.
  • The strategy must include the control and, where appropriate, reduction of over-all costs all the while ensuring operations safety, operations reliability and customer satisfaction.
  • The plant personnel will embrace the culture of operational excellence.
  • Customer requirements must be upheld reliably. These requirements must be translated into measurable performance objectives for the unit.
  • The plant manager is responsible for maintaining the conformance program certifications and making sure that they perform on a daily basis. Among these programs are the food safety, packaging materials safety and IFS PACsecure programs. Adherence to the food safety program by complying with the required IFS PACsecure standards is essential to meet our customers’ performance standards.

Provide sound financial management and maximize the return on assets under his responsibility

Design and implement a talent development and succession strategy for his unit, in cooperation with Human Resources

Build a team of competent and dedicated people whose skills complement one another

Ensure that the work flow and job structure are tailored to his unit’s needs

Manage and engage his staff based on Cascades’ values and business strategy

Health & Safety

Accept the full responsibility that comes with his position in line with Cascades’ OSH requirements

Identify the unit’s OSH priorities in line with corporate objectives and follow up on them

Insist on and create a safe and healthy work environment for all his unit staff

Promote sound occupational health and safety management
